1. Dice the apple into 1 inch pieces, in a medium sized pot over medium heat add in the apples, water, maple syrup and apple pie spice simmer for 3-5 minutes or until apples start to caramelize.
2. Then add in the oats, chia seeds, salt, milk, and stir until combined.
3. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring often. When the mixture
thickens and the oats soften, it is ready.
4. Stir in the pure vanilla extract, egg whites and lemon juice. Make sure the egg whites are stirred in last to ensure they do not cook into a scrambled egg consistency.
5. Pour into a dish and serve with almond butter or desired nut butter.
